Ninth drabble for the
doctorwho_100 challenge.
I am now connected to the internet in my flat (*happy dance*) so ... well, nothing much'll change in regard to my fics, I guess - I've been managing to keep up a fairly regular updating schedule despite my lack of net, thanks to
sellars88 being so hospitable every week :o) Thanks Adam!
Anyway, enjoy the fic and let me know what you think. Also, Tegan and Romana have no comments and they're feeling left out (hint hint) :o)
Fic Name: Turkish Delight
Rating: G
Prompt: Sunset (#033)
Claim: Companions
Companion: Evelyn Smythe
Timeline: Anytime between The Marian Conspiracy and Pier Pressure.
Spoilers: None
The colours light up the shore, turning the pale sand into glowing embers. Even the Doctor’s hair gets the fiery treatment; his curls have turned into a flaming halo. She tries not to smile too obviously as she walks beside him.
He nods towards the colourful skyline, saying intelligently, “Red sky at night, shepherd’s de- Is it shepherds? Or is it sailors? I can never remember…”
Evelyn chuckles, shakes her head, gazes out towards the horizon. She has to admit, he was right: there’s nothing quite like a stroll along a Mediterranean beach while the late summer sun is setting.

Date: 2006-12-12 04:23 am (UTC)Another one with some lovely colour imagery in it. Also I now want to walk along the beach. It's so hot!

Date: 2006-12-12 11:37 pm (UTC)Thanks :o) Yep, more imagery - I like my imagery because it's not something I always do consciously, sometimes it just happens.
And lucky you having warm weather - it's bloody freezing this half of the world! Beach-walking would not be fun right now, it would be wet and shivery - and treacherous, given how dark it is :o)
