Fic: Remix drabbles, 2 Doctor Who, 1 Firefly
These are the drabbles I wrote for
remixthedrabble last year. Forgot to post them here until I was updating my top post :o)
Title: They Laugh With All Their Might
Original Fic: How The Winds Are Laughing, by
kerravonsen
Rating: G
Characters: Fifth Doctor, Donna Noble
Words: 100
Spoilers: Journey's End, none for End of Time.
Not many people would put this much effort into recovering lost memories. Most would fret for a while before eventually coming to terms with the loss. Not Donna. He must've seen that something special in her; he can see it now, in fact. She's determined, headstrong, speaks her mind. He's reminded of Tegan, and he smiles wistfully for a moment, glad that she finally got to where she wanted to be, but still missing her. He's always been a bit odd like that with his companions; they can irritate, interfere, condescend and make fun, and he still thinks they're fantastic.
Title: Suffering in Silence
Original Fic: Making Noise, by
amaresu
Rating: PG
Characters: Sabalom Glitz, Charley Pollard/Mel Bush
Words: 100
One of the girls groaned, the sound reverberating through the wall of the ship, before rapid panting gave way to a long moan of pleasure.
Glitz ran a hand over his face, remembering the broken nose; he'd long since learned not to venture near their room at this time of night.
The noises rose in pitch and intensity until Glitz lost the nightly battle to keep his hands by his sides. His head fell back against the wall and he let out a quiet sigh of frustration. Those girls were going to kill him one day, one way or another.
Title: Her Mind's Eye
Original Fic: Bird's Eye View, by
crevanfox
Rating: G
Characters: Simon, River
Words: 100
River sees sense in everything. Sense the others don't see.
She sees sense in what they did to her, even if it makes her shake and wake screaming.
Sometimes she can see other things, real things. Because of Simon.
He's her protector. He's her keeper. He tries his hardest to blow the dust outta her head and make her talk again.
Sometimes she's a real girl. Most times not. The glimpses hurt; they go so quickly, leaving her with bile and apple bits.
One day she'll be real for good. Not a moonbrain, a commodity, or a burden. Real. Sensical.
