Fields and forests form patchwork patterns this far up, and Sarah smiles as she peers through the tiny window. She can see farms and rivers and villages dotted about like children’s toys on the landscape thousands of feet below her. It’s not her first time on a plane by a long shot, but she still gazes in awe at the rolling clouds and the rolling mountains covered in snow.

Beside her, in the aisle seat he insisted on, Josh looks faintly green. She chuckles, pats his arm and tries to empathise, but she can’t imagine ever being afraid of flying.

I have so much madlove for Sarah Jane and Josh, especially in this particular audiobook. Great drabble. Do you have any other stories in this era?
