It's one of my favourite fanon ideas - that Ten and Martha stayed with previous companions. Ian and Barbara work, as do Ben and Polly. I just figured Ian and Barbara make a better set of parents. Plus, then it fits with the NAs :o) But anyway, it doesn't really make sense to me that Ten would ignore the fact that he has friends in 1969 who would put him up. It also doesn't make sense to me why there's not more of this subgenre, cos it's just fantastic, isn't it? :oD
And yes, I read your RTD paradox thing yesterday when I was going through who_daily :o) I was going to say something, but I think somebody had already said a fair approximation of what I would've said. Always happens :o) But the main gist of it was, I am totally with you on all those points you made. (Except I have to defend a couple of episodes not written by RTD, cos they're more or less fab and in one case I know the writer - so, loyalty and all that *grins*) Oh, and I just read the shipping meme that you did, and you almost made me cry with the first one because it's just so true. And you phrase it so beautifully :o)
Anyway, thank you! I'm very glad you enjoyed the story :o)
