Posted a new blog entry today, about how I met Sergeant Benton! Kinda only decided to go to Collectormania on a whim, but ended up having a really good day. John Levene was really nice :) So have a read of my latest entry, in which there is much more detail :)

Woo, Time Crash icons! All five of them. Yeah, my copy is a bit crap in the resolution and colour departments, so I've had to make do as best I can with caps from time-and-space.co.uk. And here they be.

Snap! )

Might make more once I have a hi-res copy and more free time :o)

Oh, and I now have a resource post - I think. Someone who makes icons, let me know if that's all I need :o)

ETA: A few more, made with my own caps )

And that subject line is entirely appropriate, given, y'know.

Thoughts and opinions on Utopia – may contain incoherence, debatably obscure Old Skool references, and nuts )

Didn't get round to it yesterday, so I'll do it today. This was my long weekend. The post will also be long, if you hadn't already guessed by the subject title :o) Oh, and there will be lots of pictures. I'll try and trim some down, but expect picspam.

There will be something here tomorrow once I have seen 'The Shakespeare Code' again, cos I watch it for story first time and for lines the second time. It makes more overall sense to me that way. Just now, though, I am too tired to do anything more than make this observation, then go to bed:

If squee could be converted into electrical energy, Adam and I could be hooked up to the national grid to provide a safe, clean and efficient energy source for Britain.

Edit: And tomorrow there will also be a Liz Shaw drabble. Because I forgot today. There was Who and Shakespeare and chocolate and stuff. Not my fault.

Edit the seconde: Okay, I lied. No Liz drabble, but instead a Martha drabble, because I was struck by inspiration while rewatching this afternoon :o) Maybe Liz next week.

So, thoughts and favourite moments (of which there are many):

David Tennant was on the Graham Norton show tonight. He was also on Dead Ringers, and I shall be rewatching that sketch just as soon as it's up on Youtube (most likely tomorrow). "Hmm, New Labour... that's weird."
But yes, Graham Norton. They had Jo Brand too, but I don't like her very much so we'll gloss over her.
They had an excellent thing where they'd set up a police box next to the London Eye and made it make toilet noises at passers-by. Graham then said there was a phone in the 'TARDIS' and proceeded to call it. Someone next to the bus-stop went to answer it.

'TARDIS calling Time Station, TARDIS calling Time Station!' (because I'm such a geek I couldn't resist - kudos if you get the reference, all two of you who actually might) - cut because it's a bit naughty in places and I'm not f-locking this :o) )

I was in fits the whole way through, I've never enjoyed a Graham Norton thing so much.

Today, November 23rd 2006, is the 43rd birthday of 'Doctor Who'. It's been 43 years to the day since William Hartnell, Carole Ann Ford, Jacqueline Hill and William Russell (First Doctor, Susan, Barbara and Ian respectively) first appeared in good old black and white on the BBC, and despite a few hiccups, we're still travelling around time and space with the Doctor today. May we be celebrating this anniversary for many years to come!

I am the Very Model of a Gallifreyan Buccaneer, sung by Colin Baker.
(Click for song)

Pirate: You're no pirate!
Doctor: I take that as a compliment. You're quite right - I never could rob and cheat and kill like you do... but if you're saying I don't know what it's like to be outlawed for roaming the world, exploring, gathering knowledge, fighting with my wits... well, then, you're completely wrong.
Pirate: No, I meant the robbing, cheating and killing thing.
Doctor: Ah-ha! Then you have never truly appreciated what it is to be a buccaneer! Let me explain a few things to you. For you see, one could almost say that I am the very model of a Gallifreyan buccaneer.
*music swells*
Evelyn: Oh no! You are going to sing!
Doctor: Well, yes. I am!

(Doctor in regular, chorus in italics, speaking in smaller type)

I am the very model of a Gallifreyan buccaneer
I've information on all things a Gallifreyan holds most dear
I've linked into the Matrix through its exitonic circuitry
I understand dimensional and relative chronometry

I'm very well acquainted too with matters of the Capitol
I'll give you verse and chapter on Panopticonian protocol
I've been into the Death Zone and I've played the game of Rassilon
- Rassilon? ... Vassilon? Bassilon? Ah-ha! -
With pestilential monsters that I got a lot of hassle from
With pestilential monsters that he got a lot of hassle from
With pestilential monsters that he got a lot of hassle from
With pestilential monsters that he got a lot of hassle-hassle from

I understand each language and I speak every vernacular
I'll conjugate each verb obscure, decline each line irregular
In short in every matter that a Gallifreyan holds most dear
I am the very model of a Gallifreyan buccaneer
In short in every matter that a Gallifreyan holds most dear
He is the very model of a Gallifreyan buccaneer

I've tackled shady Castellans with devious behaviour
I've sparred with Time Lord Chancellors like Thalia, Goth or Flavia
In fact on some occasions I've held office presidentially
Though maybe I won't mention I was ousted out eventually

I know just how it feels to be a wanted man and on the run
But wouldn't leave the carefree buccaneering life for anyone
Though sometimes my adventures seem absurdly operatical
- Operatical? ... Hattical? Tattical? Ah-ha! -
With ups and downs and twists and turns and incidents piratical
With ups and downs and twists and turns and incidents piratical
With ups and downs and twists and turns and incidents piratical
With ups and downs and twists and turns and incidents pirati-ratical

I've sailed the seven seas of Earth and all the oceans of the moon
My trusty true Type 40 is my Gallifreyan picaroon
But is this really what the average Gallifreyan holds most dear?
I wonder what they'd think about this Gallifreyan buccaneer
But is this really what the average Gallifreyan holds most dear?
We wonder what they'd think about this Gallifreyan buccaneer

(slow) But - I've defeated evil robots such as Daleks, Quarks and Cybermen
I've overthrown dictators from Tobias Vaughn to Mavic Chen
I've rescued helpless maidens from the devastating Viking hordes
Vanquished Autons, Axons, Daemons, Krotons, Monoids, Vampires, Voords
I've liberated planets and delivered them from total war
Saved Earth, Manussa, Dulkis, Skonnos, Earth, Tigella, Earth once more
In short I know I am the truest Rassilonian legatee
- Legatee? ... Degatee? Hecate? ... Hecate? Hmm. Not sure if that's canonical. Ah-ha! I have it -
(normal speed) And so to Time Lords all I say, remember me to Gallifree
A sentiment we all agree, remember him to Gallifree
A sentiment we all agree, remember him to Gallifree
A sentiment we all agree, remember him to Galli-Gallifree

I'm not content to just observe, I am a bold adventurer
Though other Time Lords mock this Gallifreyan interventioner
I know in every matter that a Time Lord really should hold dear
I am the very model of a Gallifreyan buccaneer
We know in every matter that a Time Lord really should hold dear
He is the very model of a Gallifreyan buccaneer

Pirate: All of which goes to prove what I said - that you will never make a pirate!
Doctor: Well, excuse me for not killing people for fun!
